Harvest Festival – Pie Contest

Contest Rules:
- Eligibility:
- The contest is open to all amateur bakers. Professional bakers or individuals who bake for commercial purposes are not eligible to enter.
- Pie Requirements:
- Each contestant is allowed to submit one pie.
- Pies must be homemade; no store-bought crusts or fillings are allowed.
- Pie must be sweet (no savory submissions) and include fruit or fall theme ingredients (fruit, pumpkin, etc.).
- Pies should be standard 9-inch size.
- Submission Details:
- Contestants must register by October 12, 2024.
- To register, fill out the registration form below.
- Pies must be delivered to 20 Deep Winery between 12-1pm on the day of the contest.
- Judging Criteria:
- Pies will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Appearance (20 points)
- Crust (20 points)
- Filling (20 points)
- Overall Taste (40 points)
- A panel of judges (adults and children!) will evaluate each pie and scores will be tallied to determine the winners.
- Pies will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Awards:
- Prizes will be awarded to the top three pies:
- 1st Place: $50 gift certificate to 20 Deep Winery
- 2nd Place: $30 gift certificate to 20 Deep Winery
- 3rd Place: $20 gift certificate to 20 Deep Winery
- Winners will be announced at 1:45pm; contest taste test to begin at 1:30pm.
- Prizes will be awarded to the top three pies:
- Charity Sale:
- After the judging, pies will be sliced and sold to attendees.
- All proceeds from the pie sales will be donated to the Brendan Christopher Ryan Fund for the Fine and Performing Arts.
- Slices will be sold for $5 each.
- Additional Rules:
- Contestants must provide a list of ingredients to accommodate any potential allergies.
- Pies must be delivered in disposable containers, as containers will not be returned.
- The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet the contest rules.
Important Dates:
- Registration Deadline: Saturday, October 12th
- Pie Delivery Time: Sunday, October 13th, 12-1pm
- Judging Time: 1:30-1:45pm
- Winner Announcement: 1:45pm
